Five yellow refers to yellow croaker, cucumber, eel, duck egg yolk, and realgar wine (realgar wine is toxic, generally drink ordinary yellow wine instead of realgar wine). There are other claims that salted duck eggs can be replaced with soybeans. In the fifth month of the lunar calendar, Jiangnan people call it five yellow months.
Fried dumplings: In Jinjiang area of Fujian, every family at the Dragon Boat Festival also eats "fried dumplings", which are made of thick paste fried with flour, rice noodles or sweet potato flour and other ingredients. According to legend, in ancient times, the southern Fujian area was the rainy season before the Dragon Boat Festival, and there were more and more rain and rain. The people said that Tiangong wore a hole and wanted to "make up the sky." After the "Fried Pile" was eaten during the Dragon Boat Festival, the rain stopped, and people said that the sky was made up. This food custom comes from this.
