Dragon boat racing is an important event for the Dragon Boat Festival. It is the ritual of the ancient dragon totem sacrifice, which is also a legacy. As early as 7000 years ago, ancient ancestors had used canoes to form wooden boats and paddled with wooden paddles. The dragon boat was originally a dragon-shaped canoe carved on a single wooden boat and later developed into a dragon boat made of wooden boards.

 

Dragon boat racing has a long history and is a collective paddle competition for many people. The dragon boat race is divided into several sections such as please dragon, sacrifice dragon god, roaming dragon and collecting dragon. Before the dragon boat race, a grand sacrificial ritual is usually held. First, the dragon and the god are sacrificed.
